The best colors for logo and branding

Purple + chocolate = ...

When you think of chocolate and the color purple, you immediately know which brand it is, right?

Colors are powerful and can give a brand extremely high recognition value. However, it's important to analyze the competition before hastily deciding on a specific color for your own brand. Remember, a successful brand is unique and stands out from the crowd.

Colors and emotions

In addition to visually differentiating yourself from the competition, colors also convey emotions. Here, it's important to optimally address and engage the target audience. Male football fans between the ages of 25 and 45 need to be addressed differently than women preparing for the birth of their first child, who, in turn, need to be addressed differently than transgender people looking for gender-neutral fashion, who, in turn, need to be addressed differently than property developers from the Middle East who want to hire consulting firms from Western countries.

Demographic, cultural, and regional aspects play a very important role in color choice. For example, green is a popular color for brands that represent environmental awareness, nature, or organic products – in Western countries. In Islamic countries, however, the color green represents religion.

Every color and color combination has a different effect on our psyche and even on our body.

Mixing colors

Generally, it's best not to use too many different colors together. This can look chaotic and disorganized. Instead, it's recommended to add white or black to a particular color to create different shades of the same color.

If you add one or two more colors that contrast well with the main color, you'll come a big step closer to a harmonious play of colors for your branding.

Online vs. offline

A color on a business card must look the same as the color on a website. Cross-media color consistency can only be ensured with special color fans. A professional design agency knows how to work with these. The visual consistency of colors in print and in digital communication channels contributes to a reputable and trustworthy company image.
