HCI
Logo and web design for HCI's fundraising initiative
Client:
HCI
Industry:
NGO
Services:
Logo, Webdesign
Challenge:
The donation form on the old website did not work, which meant that the NGO lost its main source of income. In addition, the website was neither responsive nor maintainable. The logo did not reflect any Christian values and thus did not convey the desired message.
What we did:
Redesign of the logo and creation of a new website including functioning donation payment options.
Result:
HCI is recognized as a religious aid organization, Christian values are conveyed. The main source of income (donations) is secured thanks to the new website.

As a Christian aid organization , HCI Hope for the Children International eV aims to break the cycle of child poverty. Its primary focus is on helping orphans in Romania. Kindergarten and school projects, as well as the organization's Christian philosophy, are particularly important.
We designed a new logo, were responsible for its modernization, and designed the new, multilingual website, including special donation features. It was particularly important to the client to integrate the aid organization's Christian aspect into the logo. The new logo skillfully combines a child-drawn heart shape with a striking yellow cross as a Christian symbol. Furthermore, the new logo was designed to subtly recall the old logo, as the previous logo completely lacked the Christian aspect.

The sans-serif grotesque typeface TT Firs Extrabold conveys the necessary objectivity and seriousness of the theme. We chose Fingerpaint as an additional decorative typeface, reminiscent of children's finger paintings, and a perfect match for the symbol in the logo design. The new logo design also featured a more cheerful and positive color scheme. A harmonious combination of light blue, white, and sunny yellow conveys optimism, hope, and positivity.
The web design incorporates the colors of the logo and creates an interesting structure with subtle image frame animations. We often had to work with poor-quality imagery. Many images were available in too low a resolution and/or their colors didn't match each other. We solved this problem by converting most of the images to black and white and using them with light blue color filters or yellow animated picture frames. This way, all the images fit together visually, and the poor image resolution is hardly noticeable.

The website was implemented bilingually and also optimized for mobile devices such as tablets and smartphones (mobile website). In addition to implementing a blog on the new website, various payment providers were connected to the backend. The aid organization thus offers several ways to donate to various causes. Donations can be made either as a one-time donation of a freely selectable amount or monthly in varying amounts – including immediate debit via credit card, debit card, online banking (Klarna, etc.).
