Result:
Introduction of an innovative and modern app magazine for the demanding target group of dentists.
ZMK is a publication of Spitta Verlags GmbH & Co. KG in Balingen, Germany's leading media company for dentistry. We were responsible for the design and technical implementation of a corresponding app magazine for the iPad. We adapted the existing print magazine design for tablet screens, designed a consistent button layout and a logical navigation system to maximize user-friendliness. Furthermore, we integrated useful interactive features that support the content and optimize the reading flow.
A special feature of the ZMK design is the rounded corners for images and video placeholders. This has been consistently implemented throughout the entire app magazine. Interactive buttons in the section color are marked with logical symbols to support user-friendliness. Rounded corners also recall the Spitta Verlag logo, which also features rounded corners. This allows for the buttons to be subtly integrated into the editorial design. Navigation buttons show the reader how to navigate to the next page or the beginning of the article, for example.

For the typography scheme, we created a Beinert semantic matrix that supports the optimal use of various fonts. The fonts used are from the Frutiger LT family, TrueType fonts that are perfectly suited for digital use on screens and displays. Frutiger LT conveys objectivity and clarity (appropriate for the field of dentistry) and offers a reading flow that is pleasing to the human eye.
